Let’s climb upstairs to the loft.

This is one of my favorite parts of the house. Everything about the loft is just so open and airy! The light color of the carpeting and the soft blue tint of the walls really work to keep that open feeling. The railing enclosing the space is minimal, maintaining the flow of space from the living room into the loft.

In this photo, we are looking out at a field with some trees in the distance, but you can easily picture a view of the ocean out that window, can’t you?

I also like the way that the sunlight from the opposite windows is playing across the wall. The golden color reminds me of the sandy yellow hue of the exterior siding. Incidentally, it creates the same sort of strong horizontal lines as well.
