Check out a beautifully designed cabin which allies rustic charm and pure simplicity

Many cabins and log homes will claim to have a rustic style, but more often than not, they lack the fine details which make a wooden construction a rustic home. While rough features in the walls, ceiling, and floors create a rustic feel, it is often the small details and features which elevate a cabin to offer a true rustic lifestyle.

Little Bear cabin has attractive chunky wood accents; however, it is the antique decor and furnishings which make this an eye-catching rustic abode. Listed for vacation rental purposes on Unique Home Stays, the cabin offers a simple studio floor plan which balances simple, rugged features with modern functionality. Shall we explore further?
Little Bear is surrounded by meadows and woodlands which are filled with beautiful wildflowers and mature trees. The large deck area captures the sights and sounds of the surrounding woodland perfectly, creating a relaxing and peaceful setting.
Inside the cabin, we find an open floor plan which features robust beams and posts made from well-aged reclaimed wood.

The wall of windows injects a welcome splash of natural light into the cabin, which highlights the contrast between the whitewashed wall panels and untreated beams.
Comfortable sofas and chairs offer plenty of places to sit and relax. The ladder leads to the loft, which is open to the main living area below.

The attractive country-style kitchen has the same theme we noticed throughout the cabin – rough beams accented by white walls.

The bright white cabinetry adds to this aesthetic, while the high-quality appliances make preparing a meal a simple pleasure.
When we start to examine the details in Little Bear, we find the true meaning of rustic design. The dining table has been upcycled from an antique foot-pedal sewing machine. Nice touch!
The cabin is heated by a historic potbelly stove.

This wood-burner is another of the small attractive details in the cabin, yet is also incredibly functional at heating this ample-sized floor plan.
The studio floor plan includes a spacious area designated for sleeping. It has plenty of space to house an inviting king-sized bed.
The rustic wooden finish around the bedroom catches the eye, while the faux fur bed throws make you feel like you have truly escaped to the wild.

The cabin’s bathroom is finished with attractive modern tiling, creating a clean and contemporary space.

The large walk-in shower and towel heater may be present-day additions, but they do not appear out of place in this back-to-basics cabin.
A simple, old-fashioned basin serves as the sink. It is a gorgeous addition and perfectly captures the spirit of rustic living.
The loft area hosts a cozy snug which benefits from the light of a high window and the air of panels which open to below.

Take note, there are no TVs or WiFi in Little Bear cabin. It is a place for quiet reflection, to unplug from the world, and to get back to a simpler way of life.
As we step back outside to take a closer look at the deck area, we find plenty of comfortable furniture, which is in keeping with the rustic theme of the house. No plastic garden chairs here!
On one side of the cabin, we find a second entrance which is perfect for shaking off dirty boots before entering the home.
On the other side of the cabin, we discover a secluded area with a hot tub.
The hot tub is heated by an ecological wood-fired stove. Imagine sitting here, enjoying the warm water under a blanket of stars. Impressive!

To finish our tour, we walk to the bottom of the garden where we find a firepit surrounded by wooden benches and log stools.
